Former Investigators of the BioDelivery Center

David Sabate Rovira

David Sabaté Rovira, Research Assistant
Polymer Micro & Nano Engineering
DTU Nanolab

My research focuses on the design, fabrication and characterization of model cell membranes on structures 3D-printed by using two-photon polymerization method. My background is in materials engineering and I am currently majoring in polymers technology (more information).

David Schultz, Master Student
Department of Pharmacy
University of Copenhagen

The focus of my research is to generate new data on parameters relevant for the absorption of peptide drugs across the oral mucosa after oral dosing. Specifically, to assess the effect on the mucus layer surface-lining the epithelial membrane during exposure to exogenous compounds like permeation enhancers.

Ditlev Birch potrait

Ditlev Birch, Ph.D. and Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Pharmacy
University of Copenhagen

I am a pharmacist specialized in in vitro cell models for studying the epithelial permeation, cellular uptake and cellular distribution of peptide and protein drugs mediated by cell-penetrating peptides. In order to achieve this, I employ cell-based methodologies combined with advanced microscopy and bioanalysis.

Guillaume Amouroux portrait

Guillaume Amouroux, Postdoctoral Fellow
Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
The University of British Columbia

I am a biologist specialized in anti-cancer drug testing. My research comprises the evaluation of radiolabeled biomolecules, especially peptides and proteins, by quantitative imaging (PET/SPECT/CT) in in vitro and in vivo models (more information).

Johan Gätke, Scholar Student
Department of Pharmacy
University of Copenhagen

Manto Chouliara, Master Student and Research Assistant
Department of Photonics Engeneering
DTU Photonik

My research focuses on the fabrication of microtools and on their optical manipulation in order to investigate the function of novel excipients at a molecule/DDS-to-single cell level in a dynamic situation.

Natalia Christiansen, Project Coordinator
Department of Pharmacy
University of Copenhagen

Natalia was providing project support to the center, organizing seminars and project meetings. She has also created the webpage biodelivery.ku.dk and was in charge of the center's communication and dissemination.

Nuria del Castillo Iniesta

Nuria del Castillo Iniesta, Research Assistant
Polymer Micro & Nano Engineering
DTU Nanolab

My research focuses on the design, fabrication and characterization of micro- and nano structures for various biomedical studies. My background is in physics and nanotechnology, and I am generally very interested in technologies that can be used to innovate the pharmaceutical or medical fields, such as lab-on-a-chip.

Sofie Fogh Hedegaard, Ph.D. and Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Pharmacy
University of Copenhagen

My research interest encompasses the vast potentials within drug delivery of biopharmaceuticals. My main expertise is within biophysical investigations of molecular interactions, with a specific focus on membrane interaction of cell-penetrating peptides.
